Irama Asli & Asal 2025 Celebrates Malaysia’s Indigenous Heritage

Celebrating Culture Through Music, Dance and Tradition

Yayasan Kesenian Orang Asli & Asal (YKOA) proudly participated in Irama Asli & Asal 2025, a celebration of Malaysia’s Indigenous heritage held at Berjaya Times Square, Kuala Lumpur, from 12–14 December 2025.

The event brought together performers, cultural practitioners, artisans, and members of the public to celebrate the richness and diversity of Malaysia’s Indigenous communities. Through traditional music, dance, cultural performances, and community engagement, the festival highlighted the importance of preserving Indigenous identity and passing cultural traditions to future generations.

As an organisation dedicated to protecting Indigenous heritage, YKOA was honoured to be part of this meaningful celebration. Events like Irama Asli & Asal provide an important platform to showcase the traditions, creativity, and living heritage of the Orang Asli and Orang Asal communities while encouraging greater public appreciation of Malaysia’s diverse cultural landscape.

YKOA extends its appreciation to everyone who participated, supported, and celebrated Indigenous culture throughout the event. Together, we continue to promote understanding, preserve cultural heritage, and strengthen connections between communities.
