Our Program

Supporting Indigenous communities through project-based healthcare, cultural preservation, and education initiatives across Malaysia.

Who Creating Meaningful Impact Through Every Programme

YKOA’s programmes are designed to preserve Indigenous heritage while improving the well-being of Orang Asli and Orang Asal communities. Every initiative is project-based and made possible through the support of donors, grants, CSR partnerships, and dedicated volunteers.
Although we currently conduct only a few programmes each year, each mission is carefully planned to create lasting value for the communities we serve.

Healthcare Outreach

We conduct medical missions only when funding is secured. Each mission involves a volunteer medical team and provides:

Recent Missions (Completed Through Donor Funding)

Bario Highlands — 50+ elderly Kelabit & Penan patients screened for orthopaedic issues

Long Seridan, Long Meraan & Long Balau — 100+ villagers screened over a 3-day outreach

Paediatric Development Programme — 28 children assessed for autism, CP, and hearing conditions

Each mission requires logistical funding for transport, accommodation, equipment, supplies, and specialist volunteers.
Providing project-based medical outreach to remote Indigenous communities through health screenings, specialist care, and wellness support.

Cultural Preservation

This arm of YKOA continues the life’s work of Datuk Antony Ratos, who spent 50 years documenting Indigenous art.
What We Do When Funded
YKOA holds access to one of the largest private collections and archives of Orang Asli art in Malaysia — but digitisation and preservation require funding.
Preserving the rich heritage of the Orang Asli through cultural documentation, artisan support, exhibitions, and heritage conservation.

Education & Livelihood Support

Supporting Indigenous children, families, and artisans through educational initiatives, early childhood screening, skills development, and community programmes that create long-term opportunities whenever funding allows.
When funding allows, we organise:
Empowering Indigenous communities through education, skills development, early childhood support, and livelihood initiatives.
