Celebrating Indigenous Heritage on the International Stage
Yayasan Kesenian Orang Asli & Asal (YKOA) was honoured to represent Malaysia at the World Indigenous Festival in Taipei, Taiwan. The event brought together Indigenous communities from around the world, creating a platform to celebrate cultural diversity, strengthen international connections, and promote the importance of preserving Indigenous heritage.
Representing Malaysia at this global gathering reflects YKOA’s ongoing commitment to promoting the rich traditions, identity, and cultural heritage of the Orang Asli and Orang Asal communities. The festival provided an opportunity to share Malaysia’s Indigenous culture while learning from the experiences and traditions of Indigenous peoples from different countries.
Participation in international events like the World Indigenous Festival helps foster cultural understanding, encourages collaboration, and highlights the importance of protecting Indigenous heritage for future generations.
YKOA remains committed to creating opportunities that celebrate Indigenous culture both within Malaysia and on the global stage.
